Questions we hear most

If yours isn't here, call or send a message. Please leave out medical details.

What is the difference between titanium and zirconia?

Titanium is a metal; zirconia is a white ceramic. Titanium has decades of follow-up studies, and zirconia has fewer long-term studies.

Do you place titanium implants?

Dr. Loera offers zirconia. If your case calls for titanium, she says so and refers you to a dentist who places it.

Can you tell me which implant you would use?

Yes. We name the maker and the system in your written plan.

Will it hurt?

We numb the area first. You may feel pressure. Soreness afterward is common for a few days, and we tell you what to expect.

Do you offer sedation?

We use local anesthetic only. If you want IV or general sedation, we refer you to a dentist who offers it.

What counts as a dental emergency?

A knocked-out tooth, a swelling that spreads or a toothache that won't ease are reasons to call us the same day. In a life-threatening emergency, call 911.

How often do I need X-rays?

Only when Dr. Loera needs to see something the eye can't. She tells you why.

Do you speak Spanish?

Yes. Dr. Loera speaks Spanish and English.

Do you take my insurance?

We are out of network with dental plans and don't file claims. We give you an itemized receipt you can send to your plan.

Do you accept Medicaid or CHIP?

No. We are not enrolled with Medicaid or CHIP.

Can I get a written estimate first?

Yes. If you pay without insurance, we give you a Good Faith Estimate in writing, in advance.
